Growing Up Hip Hop!

TSOB Records Founder and former CEO Jo-EL with his daughter Samantha and her mother Audrey. Jo-EL turned over the reigns to TSOB Records Label to SAMANTHA at the 47th Graduating Class Commencement Exercises of the prestigious Institute of Audio Research at Harlem’s World Famous Apollo Theater in New York City on Saturday June 25, 2016 as a gift to her for graduating from his Alma Mater.

SAMANTHA received a Professional Diploma “For the achievement of technical competence and professionalism demonstrated through the successful completion of the Audio Recording and Production Program.” SAMANTHA also successfully achieved the status of “Certified/User Pro Tools,” the professional industry-standard music and audio production software and hardware.

SAMANTHA also known by her stage name KALI JEY is an accomplished singer, songwriter and producer. She grew up listening to the ‘90s Urban R&B/Soul and Hip Hop of Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill; today K. Michelle, Monica and Sevyn Streeter influence her music. KALI JEY learned her vocal techniques and performance at the world-class Brooklyn Music School in the Fort Green section of Brooklyn, New York. Her unique style of painting pictures with honesty and emotion gives her music a unique sound that she describes as “Brooklyn Swag.”

KALI JEY’S debut album, “Dreams & Music” produced by Another Jo-EL Production on The Sound of Brooklyn Records label in East New York is scheduled for release on October 24, 2016. The title single from the album, “Music & Dreams” depicts her love for music, followed by two electric singles entitled, “Nobody but You,” a story of being afraid to share love, and “Show Me,” that you’re not into playing games and things just might work out.

KALI JEY renders an eclectic mix of mellow vocals, direct and sassy lyrics, and deep elements of rhythmic urban soul and hip hop—which can be heard over heavy-hitting tracks.

KALI JEY is a talented young singer/songwriter/producer who says: “Treat your music like a business letter, it should be between you and whom it may concern.”
